2009 Le Samurai Fund
Updated: April 17, 2008
The Le Samurai Fund has been established by Amy Tryon
and Rebecca Broussard in memory of the great four-star
horse Le Samurai. The purpose of the fund will be to continue
the support of the USEA's ten Area Adult Rider Education
Programs.
The Le Samurai Fund will replace the Laura Posten Fund
started by Joyce Hampton and Chris Brown in memory of
their friend Laura Posten who died in 1997. The Laura
Posten Fund was created to offset the expenses of one
USEA Area Adult Rider Educational activity annually in
order to keep the programs affordable for riders. This
has been done with great success for the past eleven years.
The Laura Posten Fund is now depleted and concerns began
to be expressed about how the Area Adult Rider clinics
and camps would be able to continue without this essential
funding.
In response to the concerns from the Areas, Rebecca Broussard
and Amy Tryon have generously offered to continue helping
Adult Riders across the United States by creating a similar
fund and naming it after their much-loved horse Le Samurai.
The amount of funding available will be $1,000 per Area
per year. The Area Chair will be required to submit an
application form to the USEA Endowment Trust who will
review each application prior to releasing the funds to
the Area.
The USEA and all Adult Riders throughout the country would
like to thank Rebecca and Amy for their generous funding
of the Le Samurai Fund in honor of this wonderful horse.
The financial support for these vital educational programs
is so very much appreciated and the fund will ensure that
Le Samurai will be remembered for years to come.
